Novaco is a leading e-distribution provider that delivers Notices to Mariners, tracings, ENC updates and other navigational updates directly to ships worldwide. Novaco is at the heart of the Chartroom Management solutions offered by Riviera Charts.
Novaco’s innovative approach to managing the correction process for charts and publications substantially simplifies the task. It removes the need of maintaining by hand NP133, maintaining a separate folder for T&Ps or purchasing NP234 or NP247. At a click of a button, NovacoBridge gives you everything you need to make sure that you have your charts and publications corrected.
The NovacoBridge management software helps you identify and select (a) corrections and (b) new editions information that applies to your vessel's chartroom. Deciphering NtMs for information becomes a simple "click of a button". Novaco also offer an update service for Admiralty Sailing Directions, List of Lights and Radio Signals.
NovacoBridge removes the task of maintaining a folder for T&Ps and having to record what is valid and what is cancelled. A single button in NovacoBridge provides you the full list of T&Ps that affect any chart or group of charts you select along with all related text, blocks and tracings. A full audit report providing the full T&P history affecting your charts can also be viewed.
Novaco delivers updates to Navigational Warnings for all 21 areas. Information collated and distributed by Novaco is sourced from the World Wide Navigational Warnings Service Sub Committee (WWNWS) members and it is intended to help users to maintain and verify warnings received over the Inmarsat SafetyNET or international NAVTEX services which are the accepted official data streams of Maritime Safety Information.
The service is ideal for ships that are transiting different NavAreas at irregular intervals and need to maintain fully up to date records of NavArea warnings in anticipation of trading anywhere in the world.
The Novaco service marks a significant improvement to the distribution of NavArea warnings which is often done in printed format (previously part of the Notices to Mariners) or from website downloads without qualification.
The NovacoENC service allows you to receive the full ENC Update CDs and Base CDs over-the-air or a customised update package based on your ENC permits. NovacoENC eliminates the need to post CDs but more importantly eliminates incompatibility issues between permits and ENC cells. For further details please contact us directly or visit www.novaco.co.uk.
NovacoBridge distributes updates for applicable Admiralty Digital Publications. Updates are distributed by email or satellite broadcast and require no direct intenet access. This eliminates the need to post CDs and ensures your Digital Publications are always up to date. For further details please contact us directly or visit www.novaco.co.uk.
Novaco offers comprehensive weather information services with a 7-day forecast as a standard. Weather services are delivered by email or over a satellite broadcast depending on customer preferences.
Weather information is sourced from US Government sources and warehoused before customised and delivered to specific customer requirements. Weather forecasts are typically updated every 6 hours and delivered to subscribers in graphical, textual and GRIB format. GRIB, short for “GRIdded Binary” data, is a unique form of weather and ocean data widely used by ocean racers, shipping companies, and routing specialists. Forecasts are displayed in spatial resolution of 1° x 1°.
Weather data include: wind, pressure, waves, clouds, precipitation, ice report, cyclone reports.
Novaco use two main methods of delivering data (a) satellite broadcast and (b) email.
Novaco use a proprietary satellite broadcast system which is independent of all existing communications systems on board your ships. Our system is virtually portable. All the information is received in PDF format (as published by UKHO) through a small portable antenna (the size of a CD case) and a receiver of similar size. It is an ideal service (perhaps the only option) for ships without Inmarsat B/Fleet or other high bandwidth connections.
For vessels with fixed price email we offer the option of receiving files by email. Corrections and tracings distributed by email can be as small as 170Kb per week for the entire world series of BA charts.
